Physical Description: The first impression Capri gives people is of confidence, even arrogance. She stands straight and walks with grace and purpose. She is often caught up in her thoughts, planning ahead for all the tasks she wants to accomplish in a day. This results with her usually having a very serious expression. It is rare to see her smile (outside of her volunteer work), but when she does - she has a wide, friendly grin that light ups her face. She has warm brown eyes and long, soft, chestnut brown hair. Her hairstyles are usually very simple; she wouldn't want to damage her hair. She wears very little make-up, just enough to enhance her delicate features. She is 5'6" with a naturally slender build and tends to dress in stylish, feminine clothing. She does have other, more casual clothes that she wears when painting, sculpting or exercising. She wears a watch almost all of the time. Personality: Capri is very set in her ways, and tends to believe that her way is the only way. She will listen to other people's points of view, but won't hesitate to debate them. She is also a very focused, driven and determined individual. She wants success in life and she intends to achieve it. This causes her to plan her days out meticulously and approach every task from schoolwork to fun with a great deal of intensity. Change is stressful to Capri. Anyone who interferes with her plans is likely to get a negative response from her, ranging from an eye roll to a huge argument. That includes her parents. In fact, it is especially true with her parents. Her sense of humor is dry and sarcastic. All of these traits can make her appear hard, stubborn and even selfish, but she does care about others. Those who are able to become close to her will have a loyal, supportive and kind friend. There are times when Capri is able to be more relaxed. Firstly, she is at her best when she lets her creative side shine through with her theatre and artwork. Acting allows her to take on the personality of someone else, even if only temporarily. Playing upbeat characters is fun for her, and afterwards, she is happy and light-hearted. More serious roles allow her to vent her frustrations, leaving her feeling calm. Working with her hands to create a piece of art also calms her. She becomes completely invested in her creation and manages to ignore the clock while she works on it. Secondly, Capri is much more relaxed when she volunteers. Recently, she has been volunteering with a program that provides expressive therapy for children with disabilities and serious illnesses. This includes art therapy, music therapy, and other creative outlets for the children. Since Capri is not a trained therapist, her role as a volunteer is limited. It is one of the few places that she is enthusiastic about, even though she is not in control. She is able to simply enjoy helping the children. Lastly, even though they frequently disagree, Capri is able to relax around her family. They have family secrets that she would not share with anyone else. Sexuality: heterosexual History: Capri was the first child born to Ross and Lanni Kerrigan, in New York City. Even as an infant, she was determined to be as independent from her parents as possible. Her first word was "no" and her next words were "me do"; it was her way of telling her parents that she wanted to feed herself, dress herself etc. As she reached her 'terrible twos', she became ever more headstrong. At the same time, her mother had Alexan, a baby brother that Capri instantly wanted to hold and carry around the house all on her own. Fortunately for Alexan, her parents said no. When Capri was five, her parents had a third child. This time, it was a sister named Lynne. Capri was delighted to have another sibling. It is possible that she was already planning on bossing her little sister around as she did with her brother. Being the eldest certainly had its advantages for her. When Capri started school, her relationship with her siblings improved. She no longer needed to boss them around. She was a popular girl and she had friends that were eager to follow her around to be in the popular crowd. Her controlling attitude was now directed towards them. Capri became involved with many activities as a young student. Sports, music, acting lessons, the arts, dance and school filled her days. She enjoyed everything, but quickly realized that she could not do her best when she over extended herself. Being successful was very important to her, as her wanted to live up to the high expectations her mother held for her. Capri chose to concentrate on two activities; theatre and visual art. She loved to perform on stage and to create works of art; however, a part of her worried about disappointing her dancer mother since she chose not to pursue dance. As Capri became a teen, she stopped worrying about pleasing her parents and began to clash with them. The headstrong child had turned into a fiercely stubborn teenager. She would break any rule she deemed unfair, especially her curfew. Arguments with her parents were a frequent occurrence. To make matters worse, her father always seemed to know what she was thinking and planning. Capri would frequently accuse him of reading her diary or listening in on her phone conversations. She was deeply offended by the perceived violation of her privacy. Since the Light of May: Capri was busy with activities centered around high school graduation when the light of may happened. It was probably the only thing that could have directed her attention away from finding the perfect prom dress. She believed it was all a hoax until her father admitted he was a psychic. It infuriated her. He hadn't been reading her diary; he had read her mind. And he kept his abilities a secret, expecting honesty from her over such things as sneaking out of the house at night, while keeping his true abilities a secret. She felt betrayed and deceived. The two reconciled after her father promised not to use his abilities on his family. The family planned a move to Scarlet Oak after the light of May. Capri's father had a career opportunity at the Detroit Institute of Arts as well as the opportunity to become a visiting lecturer at the University of Michigan and Capri had been accepted into the University of Michigan as a Bachelor of Fine Arts student with a scholarship. The move started smoothly, they found a new home and sent their possessions ahead of them. All that was left was the actual flight. During the drive to the airport, the family car crashed into an oil tanker. The three Kerrigan children, including Capri were killed. It happened quickly, and yet to Capri - it seemed like an eternity. She could remember her siblings dying and her own death a second later. Even more incredibly, she could remember her mother, Lanni, bringing her back to life and healing her severe injuries. After the accident, Lanni was forced to tell her children that she was a supernatural creature known as a phoenix. Capri dealt with Lanni's secret with more grace than she had dealt with her father's secret. This was party due to the gratitude she felt for her mother saving her life. And partly because she did not feel betrayed. Her mother hadn't invaded her privacy and this secret had been kept to protect the family from those who hunt phoenixes. Dying and returning to life had its effects on Capri. A positive impact was that she matured, becoming more caring and compassionate. She began to look beyond herself and performed volunteer work. She also realized that her loved ones are extremely precious to her and she no longer took them for granted. While she still argues with her family, especially her parents, she makes an effort not to take the arguments too far. For example, since the accident, she has never yelled out 'I hate you' during an argument. And she has stopped being controlling towards her friends. She would never want to see anyone close to her hurt again and this includes not wanting to hurt them with her words or actions. She also become protective of the people around her. Conversely, she became more of a risk taker with her own life. Coming back from the dead made her more concerned for her family, but less concerned for herself. She felt as if she had already been through the worst and nothing could harm her again. This also causes conflicts with her parents, who have been more protective since the accident. Another effect of the crash was that the head injury she suffered, while quickly healed by her mother, resulted in the emergence of her psychic abilities. After the accident, Capri began to sleepwalk. She assumed it was a form of stress related to her memories of the accident. It worried her family and embarrassed her. She went to a sleep clinic where a doctor recommended various techniques to relax before she went to bed, including meditation. These techniques did not cure her sleepwalking, but she did notice a new phenomenon. She could control her dreams. Capri gradually realized that there was more to her vivid, lucid dreams than she first thought. This started during a breakfast with her family. She passed her sister a bottle of juice and their hands briefly touched. The light touch caused Capri to have a vision. She couldn't explain it, but in her heart, she knew she was seeing part of her sister's dream the night before. She had other random visions and trained herself not to touch anyone after they had been sleeping. These psychic flashes were overwhelming to her. Despite both her parents being supernatural, Capri did not want to be a psychic. It terrified her to think that she had abilities that she could not control and she kept it a secret. She feels guilty for being secretive and is worried that her father may suspect something, as he is a telepath and empath. With these concerns on her mind, Capri has not noticed another emerging psychic ability; that of a finder. She has not lost anything since the accident and was able to find belongings that were misplaced during the family's move to Michigan. She believed it to be simple good luck. Special Skills/Abilities: In addition to her psychic abilities, Capri is a talented actress and artist. Personal Weaknesses: Obstinate: Capri is very stubborn. When she makes up her mind, it is difficult for anyone to change her opinions. Even when she discovers she's wrong, she has a hard time admitting it. It has led to her having frequent arguments with the people in her life. Controlling: Capri likes things to be done the 'right way' and to her, that means her way. She won't hesitate to tell others what to do and how to do it. She likes to think it makes her assertive, but the truth is, she is bossy and uptight. Sleep walker: Capri will climb out of bed in her sleep and clumsily stumble around, opening doors and turning on lights. It embarrass her, and she worries that it annoys those around her. It is rare for her to sleep away from home because of it. Risk Taker: Capri has a youthful mind set that allows her to think that she is invincible. This was only strengthened when she returned from the dead. She rarely considers the consequences of her actions when it comes to her own personal safety. As a result, she will take risks. Personal Strengths: Motivated, hard worker: Capri focuses all her energy when studying and working. She always strives to do her best. She never slacks off and has never needed praise or other incentives to be successful. She believes accomplishing a goal is a reward in itself. Punctual: This is a trait Capri learned from her mother. She is always on time and usually early. Imaginative: Capri is constantly thinking of ways to create her art.
